In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped tomatoes, red onion, jalapeño pepper, and cilantro.
Squeeze fresh lime juice over the mixture.
Season with salt to taste. If desired, add ground cumin for additional flavor.
Gently toss all the ingredients together until well combined.
Taste and adjust seasoning, adding more lime juice or salt if needed.
Serve immediately as a topping for tacos, quesadillas, nachos, grilled meats, or enjoy with tortilla chips.
