Recipe: Sausage, Peppers, and Onions in Skillet

Ingredients:
– 4 Italian sausages (mild or spicy, according to preference)
– 2 bell peppers (preferably a mix of red and green), thinly sliced
– 1 large onion, thinly sliced
– 3 cloves of garlic, minced
– 2 tablespoons olive oil
– 1 can of crushed tomatoes
– 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
– Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
1. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
2. Brown the sausages on all sides until fully cooked (about 8-10 minutes). Remove and set aside.
3. In the same skillet, add more olive oil if needed, then sauté bell peppers and onions until tender and slightly caramelized (about 5-6 minutes).
4. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Return the cooked sausages to the skillet.
5. Pour in the crushed tomatoes and stir in Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
6. Mix well, ensuring sausages and vegetables are coated in the tomato sauce.
7. Simmer over medium-low heat for 10-15 minutes to meld the flavors. Add water or chicken broth if the sauce gets too thick.
