Ingredients:

For the Meatloaf:

1 ½ lbs ground beef
1 packet (1 oz) French onion soup mix
½ cup breadcrumbs
1 egg, beaten
½ cup milk
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
For the Topping:

1 cup caramelized onions
½ cup beef broth
1 tablespoon flour
1 tablespoon butter
½ cup shredded Swiss cheese

Prepare the Meatloaf:

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, French onion soup mix, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce, and Swiss cheese. Mix until well combined.
Press the mixture into the loaf pan.
Bake the Meatloaf:

Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
Prepare the Topping:

In a pan, melt butter and add flour. Cook for 1 minute, stirring continuously.
Slowly add beef broth, whisking until smooth. Stir in caramelized onions and cook until thickened.
Pour the onion mixture over the meatloaf and top with shredded Swiss cheese. Broil for 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
