Nashville hot fried chicken recipe
If you haven’t tried Nashville hot fried chicken, you’re in for a treat. The secret is a special sauce that combines the spice of cayenne pepper with the sweetness of brown sugar and the richness of butter!

Fair warning, today you’re brushing this sauce it on your chicken, tomorrow on your carrot sticks, and by next week everything in your fridge will be Nashville hot!

If you’re sensitive to spice you can use a bit less of the sauce, skip the optional hot sauce, or just keep a glass of something cold handy to wash it down. Despite the “hot” warning label, this will be one of the most crowd-pleasing dishes you’ve ever fried. Prepare to be hounded for the recipe!

Ingredients

1 chicken, 3-4 lbs, cut into 10 pieces (or buy a pre-cut selection of drums and thighs)
1 tablespoon kosher salt
4 eggs
1 tablespoon hot sauce (optional)
2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1-1/2 teaspoons garlic powder

1 teaspoon paprika
1 tablespoon hot sauce (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste
